I'm having eye problems?

I've recently had a problem with seeing black dots in my eyes which i heard are things just called floaters. I ignored this at first because only one or two would appear when it was bright out, but not i have had many more and in both eyes so im guessing there has to be a different problem.. Please help if anyone knows any remedies or anything. I'm trying to see an eye doctor soon and i go to coast guard boot camp in the summer so i would like to find out what the problem is
