A PHD degree in Nutrition? Not the typical BS or even MS degree?

The only reason to get a PhD in nutrition is if you want to teach it at the college level. Otherwise, it won't do anything for you. A PhD is a research degree - you'd need to complete masters coursework and then design and carry out an original research project, then write up your conclusions in a dissertation, usually publish them, and defend the results to professionals in the field.
