What kind of half chaps should I get?

After a long time I finally need new half chaps. We're going out to the store today to try some on and *hopefully* get some. I don't want to have to clean them a whole bunch (I'm so bad at cleaning my boots), but I don't want all suede half chaps. I think they look kind of ugly. What brand do you wear/recommend? Right now I have Ariat's and they're mostly leather. Thanks!
