I am trying to help a friend of mine find a new pair of boots. She is extremely hard on her riding boots. Shes out at the barn every day riding and doing rigorous chores. She rides intermittently throughout the day and does not have to option to have work boots to switch to for chores. So were trying to find a very tuff boot that she can have for a good length of time without destroying... Shes had multiple pairs of Ariat boots and they are just not cutting it for her. Why aren't my anti-malware programs working?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium, and I run Spybot, SUPERAntiSpyware, Avast!, MalwareBytes, and Windows Defender. I also use Secunia PSI and HouseCall on occasion. Avast! runs constantly, and I try to scan at least once a month. Just last night, I got a trojan (Rogue:Win32/Winwebsec, I later found out). I figure it must be from something I downloaded, but I have no idea what. My problem was that after I booted up in safe mode, I scanned everything I had. Avast came out clean, Spybot and SuperAntiSpyware found a whole load of tracking cookies, and Malwarebytes found three trojans and one PUP. I thought that would have solved the problem, but after booting up normally, Windows Security Center and Windows Defender found the aforementioned trojan which was actually causing the problem. So, I guess I'm wondering, why didn't my other programs find it first?

I just got my first pair of leather dress tall boots (ariat). The feet fit fine, but the ankle is a little big. However, the calves are unbearably tight. I could feel my pulse through my boot and couldn't feel my feet. This was my first time wearing them out of the box, and the store people said that they would stretch, and drop down in height (because it's a little tall on me). Should I get a bigger calf size or will they stretch more?

I have a pair of Ariats (I'm in love with them, but they're pretty new so I can't give a good review yet) and a good friend of mine has Mountain Horse ones and loves them. You'd probably be fine with either, but its safest to go to a tack store or big tack sale and try them on instead of buying online if you think they might be hard to fit.

No do not do not do not soak in water the truth is that you may have bought then too tall and they have dropped it may not feel like it to you though always ask your instructor or go get refitted for boots at a tack shop i can say that i did not get fitted but tried my friends boots on and was able to order myslef a pair and they fit perfectly so. if you soak them in water it could ruin them because the leather absorbs the water and wont release it and it will mold so i would not recommend this unless you wanna dish out like another 200-300 dollars for a new pair the best thing to do is clean with saddle soap and polish with black shoe polish and let them drop naturally dont do anything that could damage the boots if that does not help you may wanna think about going to a tack shop and have them fit you again like i would suggest like dover saddlery if you live near one but ask your instuctor to on what they think is best for you to do with your boots

My Laptop has problems?

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-2173cl Entertainment Notebook PC, up to recent events the laptop had been working perfectly fine, but all of a sudden when I try to start my laptop, it shows a message Boot Device not found, I would restart my laptop over again and again and once every while I would get to my loading page and when I input my password it would take a long time to get in and after a few minutes the Blue screen would pop up and/or take me back to the boot device not found error, I try to use the system recovery but when I do it would work for a bit and then repeat the boot device not found error, I also tried to re-install my Vista program but when I do i get an error, I tried to reformat the Hard drive and while it is doing so, the hard drive disappears off the page and says device not found, what can i do to fix this? Are my field boots too big?

I bought my first pair of field boots today. They are second hand (in very nice condition) and off aconsignment rack. The only info I have on them is that they are Ariat (zip-ups). The foot, calf are PERFECT. Not to mention they were dirt cheap. (well, 90$, compared to the 179.95$ I wouldve had to spend if I want new boots. Practically the same). One problem; they are a bit too tall (I think). The sales person said they were about 1/2 an inch too tall. Also, the ankle might be a bit too baggy, but I'm not sure. I had a suggestion to buyheel lifts for them. When I told my coach about my boot problem, she said buy them. They don't hurt the back of my knees, but they buckle a little in that area. If someone could please help, I spent all my money on these boots and can't return them. I have no idea if they will drop any more or if they are stuck like the way they are at the moment. Please help me by stating your opinion and maybe a few tricks to see if they have dropped completely. Thanks already. =)

They look great. I have many friends that have FatBaby and ProBaby boots by Ariat. I personally have a regular pair of Ariats that have the cushion gel in the heel. They are the comfiest brand IMO, and I'll never buy anything than Ariat. I'm sure you will be pleased with those boots. I might go find them at a store though, some of their styles seem to run a little small.

My Daughter in Law is lying?

My Son's common law wife is not telling the truth about something i told her should i confront her or just let it go. I was at there house looking after her Daughter because she was sick. I have a pair and they are OK for what you need. I would look at Ariats. They are the best! They start at $199 on Dover. I had the same problem. After they dropped, they were still too tall and I had to take them to a shop that specialized in horse leather products. I got them cut down and taken in and they fit perfectly. Good luck at your show!

with a saddle I wouldn't mess with it, I'd have someone fix it, even though it is small, your saddle isn't something to mess around with. We have a saddler here that is amazing, and pretty reasonable, my saddle he pretty much had to take apart and add screw to make it stronger, and only charged like 40 bucks. the boots, if theres a way you can fix them, go for it, but a saddle, you rely on. I wouldn't mess with it.

as you can tell ariat and mountain horse boots are great. i own both. i would suggest you try on both though, which ever fits you better. if a shoe puts blisters on your feet they don't fit. a shoe shouldn't hurt when fitted properly. go to a good tack store and have someone help you find the right fit. your going to spend a lot of money and once you start wearing them you cant return them if you don't like them. if they hurt your feet you probably wont want to wear them.

Case of missing western show boots. possible way to fix the problem?

My black show boots have mysteriously disappeared, and while i do have some theories on where they are, i would rather focus on fixing the situation rather quickly as i have a show coming up. my show outfit consists of black show pants, a royal blue silver and black show top, black hat, and what are supposed to be black show boots. i was working the out gate and ribbon distribution of a local show today and noticed quite a few girls had similar outfits to mine but they instead had dark brown show boots. the judge didnt seem to mind, but the show im preparing for is larger scale than the one i was at today. i dont know if i should just buck up and wear my dark brown boots, or if i should dye my dear Ariat Fatbaby boots. Tailor, you can wear the Ariat Show half chaps. They are basically just the top half of a dress boot, and they are approved for showing. I love mine, and they look very nice in the show ring. They have the added advantage that you can work in your nice paddock boots, and then slip the show chap on to show. I don't think I'd ever go back to pull ons, for the exact reason you pointed out! :)

If your boots and chaps are really nasty, hose them off with water first, then use soap to wipe them. Afterwards, use leather/suede cleaner. Horse gear is made to be tough, so a shower wont hurt them.

Questions about Tailored Sportsman riding breeches....?

OK so I'm on a college IHSA team and this year for Christmas I'd really like to ask for a pair of nice breeches. It seems to me that Tailored Sportsman is a really popular brand as well as Ariat. So I've been trying to scope out those two brands. One of my problems is I'm not 100% sure what size I'd be and there is absolutely no stores anywhere near me for me to go try things on. I tried on a pair of Tailored Sportsman 30 regulars from my friend but they were kind of tight at the waist and then super baggy around my hips/upper thighs/crotch area, so I don't know if they're too small or too big! The other problem is I'm not entirely sure what all the differences are between the different types of Tailored Sportsman breeches. If I'm planning on using these mostly just to show (and mind you I really don't show THAT often maybe 5 times a year) and to practice in a little, what style would be best? I'd really like to get some good quality breeches to last me a while but I also don't need the absolute top of the line and I don't want to break the bank on just one item. Hi, I'm 30 and he's 36, we have been married for 4 months now. It's not that I'm trying to change him now we're married, I have always been concerned but didn't want to pressure him. We've been talking about starting a family soon and I'm concerned about his drinking and general health. He never goes a single day without drinking and drinks 1/2 to 1 700ml bottle of Rum each day. I said something about this the other day and he told me it's better than it used to be. We have been together 4 years and I honestly didn't notice how much he drank as he buys it himself, but always has a drink in his hand every afternoon. The only reason I've noticed now is he asked me to grab him 2 bottles Friday afternoon (they were on special) & they were both gone Sunday night. He is never aggressive or drunk but I worry about the health of his liver etc. He is carrying his excess weight in the stomach & chest area. I tell him he's not overweight, he just has a big belly (which is pretty much true). He also doesn't eat breakfast at all and it's not unusual for him to get home at the end of a 12 hour day to have eaten next to nothing all day. I would like him to be motivated to exercise etc but he starts work at 5am and I can't get up with him at 4am to go for a walk.. No way.. DVD drive wont read music cds?

I have a version of those boots, and I just use regular sized western spur straps(I don't even think there are usually different sizes to choose from), and every pair but one are almost too large for my boots. I went horseback riding the other day wearing my Ariat Legend boots under jeans. When I got off the inside of my leg was rubbed raw from the top of the boot rubbing against my calf. This happens when I walk for long periods with these boots too. Will wearing a pair of chaps over my jeans help with this, or are chaps only to help with rubbing from the saddle and stirrup leathers (I'm riding English)? I'm desperate to find a solution that doesn't require me wearing multiple band aids on the inside of my calves every time I ride. Also, the top of the boots keep catching on the saddle flap.

I know exactly what you mean. My boots get VERY dirty, especially in the winter. What I would recommend getting a bucket with water, rags, a toothbrush, cleaner, and conditioner. Wipe off any dirt you can with a damp rag. Then, use the rag or toothbrush (depending on how ground-in the dirt is) with leather cleaner, and clean off the rest of the dirt. Lastly, use a rag to put on leather conditioner (I use Neatsfoot Oil, but they do pretty much the same thing). Every once in a while, bring them into a cobbler and ask them to clean and waterproof your boots. It won't actually waterproof them, but it makes them more durable (and SHINY!) Hope this helps :)

From experience, I wouldn't buy half chaps without trying them first. It never turns out well. The paddock boots look fine. My first pair were just like that and they told me that I shouldn't expect them to last more than a year or a year and a half but they lasted 4 and a half years of heavy use. Just keep them nice.

Hello, I am 14 years old and I would like to become a professional conductor (but I am still thinking). I am advanced in piano, ahead of my peers. I have a few questions, though, and it would be wonderful if they were answered. First, the main thing that I am worried about is that I am a girl. I know that this sounds silly, but I have never seen a professional female conductor (but I am sure there are some) and I have read many articles circulating the fact that it is a male dominated field, will this cause a problem?. Second, do most professional conductors have a job outside of conducting an orchestra that will give them an income that is suitable, or do professional conductor make enough to make a living? Will I need a lot of conducting experience before college? I know that conducting is one of the most difficult music paths because it is not a guaranteeed career, but I would really like to become one. Please don't laugh and yes, I am nervous because of the "male dominated field" factor. Here is another question that I should have started off with: Is conducting a male dominated field because there are more men getting a degree in conducting, or is it because people think men are better at conducting so more men get hired. I herd a report that more woman are becoming conductors. Is this because more woman are getting degrees in conducting, or because more are being accepted as conductor? I am mostly worries that I could get a doctorate degree, and still not find work, and be unprepared for the life ahead of me. Lastly, as a professional conductor, what will the disadvantages be? I love to travel, but does it mean a lot of moving around the country? I work in the medical field & customer service is priority at my job. I work with 2 others in my area - these 2 are in their mid-20's & have no ambition to go above what they are expected to do. When we don't have a heavy patient load, they spend a majority of their time on the internet, bring books, magazines to work, & have even painted their nails at their desk. Each of us is to have an even amount of providers that we manage schedules for, however, for over the last year, I have managed 6 provider's schedules, and 5 outreach provider's schedules while the 2 of them have managed only 2 providers between the 2 of them. Recently, one of our providers noticed that I was doing a majority of the work, while the other 2 visited or spent most of their time putzing. We now have to rotate positions weekly & our manager stepped in to relieve me of some of the providers that I was managing. The other 2 co-workers have not talked to me since this happened, and even though I have made attempts to ask them work-related questions, they don't even acknowledge that I am talking to them or even turn to look at me. I often e-mail, call, or visit with our manager due to the fact of the providers that I do manage are outreach providers for very specific patient needs, and there are issues or situations that come up where I do need to have direction on what path to proceed with. I do also manage 3 insurance company referral systems as they come into our department, so I am in constant contact & communication with our managed care dept & these insurance reps. The other 2 co-workers seem to leave me out of any discussion with what is going on with their provider or if something has been changed with how we are scheduling for a specific provider. I feel as though they are very inmature & may be a little jealous of my work ethic & the rapport I have with management & the rest of the dept staff. Most times, I feel as though I am the office manager in our dept. No matter what I say to these 2 co-workers, there is always the 1 that finds an argument against it. This is the same one that I get the most resented feeling from. Often times, she will make the comment to me that "You're not my mother!" I have to walk on egg shells around her, to watch what I say to her & how I say everything to her, but yet, she will hover around my computer & jump down my back & question me on "What does that patient want now?!" "Why are you in that patient's record - I just scheduled him?" I am constantly on guard with her. I absolutely love, love , love my job & I know that I am very good at it. I have always been very easy to get along with, and have never had a problem like this in the past. I realize that there are always going to be these kind of people around, but it makes is soooo difficult at work. I have never heard of that, and if the boots don't say they are waterproof, i'd suggest not doing that. What I've done is oil them everytime they feel dry (you don't want to do it too much) and also wear them everywhere you go. (i.e: the mall, outside (as long as they stay clean) especially up and down steps!) also stand on like a step and have your heels hanging over the edge of the step then push your heels down, do this every so often

I have these exact boots and so does my sister. Both of us needed to go up 1 size from our regular shoe size, because the tend to fit small. As much as you want to them to fit perfectly, it's better for them to be a bit too big, but still be able to wear them, than too small, and have your foot not fit at all. I'd go with an 8 or an 8.5.

Both my son and I have had Dublin paddock boots, but different models. I've been happy with both pairs, but his were better than the ones I have. They stood up to about 2 years of abuse by a boy. I bought them used, but really good looking, and they still looked great when he outgrew them. I bought mine because I was so happy with his. Mine are good quality, too, but don't seem quite as nice as his. I've had them for a couple of years and they're still holding up great.

What riding boots do you recommend?

I used to ride when I was younger and I'm going to start up again this summer. I ride English and I need to buy a pair of tall riding boots. I'm having a hard time finding a good pair because my price range is around $200 or so and I have wide calves. I found these Ariat Heritage II ones which sound good, except my calf measurement is 16.5" and the largest they have is 15.75" I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and order them and see if they fit, or if you can recommend another good brand that makes boots with wider calves?

It was my saddle. My horse mentor/former boss found it for me on ebay. It was a brand new Billy Cook roping saddle that came from a tack store that was closing. It came with a matching readstall and breastcollar all for $950. It retailed at $1500. With my savings, I was able to get brand new reins, aluminum stirrups, and custom fenders for my little tiny legs.

Field hockey helmet with prescription lens?

I'm a field hockey goalkeeper for my school's team and I ALWAYS have trouble seeing the ball all the way across the field when I'm in play. Even if the ball is bright orange on a turf field, I still have trouble seeing it! I have glasses but I fear they will break or bend if I wear them under my helmet. Is there such a thing as a helmet with a large lens on the inside of the bars? Like lenses for glasses but in the form of a plate that can go on the inside? I've heard that you can buy prescription goggles but I really don't wanna have to put anything under my helmet, all the gear that I have to wear is enough. If there is no such thing, is there something else that I could use?

How can I cut down my running time?

How can I help break in my new field boots faster/easier?

Well really the best thing is to wear them riding. But your well on your way to getting them broke in. But there is really no substitute to the wear and tear they will get while your riding. You do not want to oil them. Also I would not use to much conditioner, boots and saddles are not the same kind of leather. Go online to a saddle shop i like Saddlers Row and take a look at Urad Leather Conditioner with Applicator. It is under $10 and a little goes a very long way. This one conditioner will take place of leather soap and conditioner. It may just do the trick. But remember NEVER EVER polish the inside of your boots, (where it touches the saddle or horse) with anything other than cleaner, NO boot polish. or your horse, saddle, pads, girth will all be the same color as your boots.

These will be more than good enough for just lessons. Brand names don't effect your riding. If you were going to be showing, you could ask for a nicer pair for xmas, but since you only ride once a week, I don't think you really need them. They just feel almost like yoga pants.

Does my cheer coach seem lazy?

Shes been a cheer coach for 10 years but never cheered before that in her life. At practice she usually sits in the back on her laptop and lets the other coach do everything. She is scared to try harder stunts. At try outs she usually takes everyone o the team and says that eventhough some dont have good skills we'll work on them But we never do. Shes not always there at summer practices. She makes us fundraise at coors field and invesco field (i live in denver,CO) but she never works with us. She never really gets in there with us to help us or show us anything. She does sign us up for several compettions and community events. There is no structure either, we sometimes not get much accoplished either she really slacks. Shes also not in shape so its not very motivating for alot of overweigh girls to get in shape. So what do you guys think? I see a very low chance of many of these girls getting into college cheerleading from this coaching level. Do you guys think that the level that a coach coaches matters?

Issues with my student teaching experience?

Ok, So I have some issues with my student teaching. Apparently my lessons are good but my behavior is not. My cooperating teacher ripped me today saying after the 3rd day I don't know the students names, and don't walk around the classroom. I was waiting for her to tell me to walk around I guess not. Also some things I said were inappropriate to her. Example, the parachute exercise I said when I was younger I would like to go under the parachute so I could flip other people off. I also stayed at my desk and did not move around very much to talk to the others. I can tell my teacher does not like me. I want to change my behavior and become more involved. Question is how can I change her opinion of me since I have been there for 3 days. I am very upset by this since I did not think I was doing as many things wrongs as I was. I am wanting to fix it but feel I dug myself in too deep of a hole. She said that it doesn't seem like I want to teach but that is not the case. I have had 3 other jobs in the field and love it. So my question is am i dug in too deep?

maybe this girl has been with someone in the past and they ended up leaving her? she probably is just an emotional person if she's crying all the time. like with the whole punching you thing, she probably didn't mean to hurt u and when u were hurt it scared her into thinking that she's a violent person when she's not. i don't think u should end it but just be sure that you aren't leading her on.
